Domain Business
The business world has realized the true potential of Domains as a virtual realestate. Ultra-premium domains like Vodka.com sold for $3million, Diamond.com for $7.5million and Beer.com for $7million. Domain industry has blossomed in the last few years and its become an internet industry in its own right.
There are major registrars like Godaddy, Enom and Moniker that also auction domain names and provide parking services as well. As an individual, you can register fresh domain names (though the good ones are mostly gone), or buy them at the auctions. The is also an option of part ownership of valuable domains offered through sites like Fusu.com. Once you obtain the domain names, you can park it (parked pages are usually single pages with just ads with very little content) with parking companies and eventually resell them or develop them into websites. Either ways, the goal is to make money from these domain names.
